In the pursuit of collecting all things ice tackle I came across Dynamic Lures & found some great colors that are pretty catchy   :o  sharp premium hooks & quality split rings with a different sounding rattle chamber caught my attention

Can you elaborate on your lighting a little  - I wanted to do something similar but was worried about them being damaged when the shack is being raised & lowered.

BTW amazon had the best price I found on em

Yes Sir, ordered last night & found a good tip from a youtube video
use a slightly smaller 5/32 bit to drill your pilot holes so that the screw will hold tight while you tighten the nuts.https://youtu.be/t4VVrYfJa68

General Discussion / Re: Erie eye rods

Not trying to hijack the thread but had a similar question for those in the know -

Wouldn't a MH graphite blank be better suited than a standard Medium for fishing such heavy baits ?
-My thoughts are that the lighter tip would constantly be loaded under the strain of lure & dull your hook set .

My "ice affliction" started at the end of last season so have built my arsenal from scratch & could not be any more happy  :D

Lowrance elite 3x portable
Eskimo HC40 auger
Eskimo Wide 1 Inferno shelter & travel cover
tackle, tackle & more tackle..
..and just when I thought I was happy with my reels' I had to buy a new Shimano Symetre  1000

When do Walleyes typically target Perch as a food source & how do you exploit their Predatory nature?

Ice Safety!!! / Re: safety gear
« on: October 25, 2015, 06:28:04 PM »
Nothing mind blowing here but I love my Korkers boots, they keep my feet dry n warm but more importantly they give me serious traction & stability to my arches while trotting the ice.  I even felt safe playing "Billy Goat" on the iced over rocks while Winter fishing. I would never have done this with my Rocky's  -

General Discussion / Re: Thoughts on propane power augers
« on: October 14, 2015, 01:24:19 AM »
I have been reading every bit of info I could find on the web for propane augers & finally found a deal from an unlikely local source - Dick's (online) was offering 15% off with free shipping for Columbus Day & I will receive score card rewards later in the mail. After tax I was able to get the Eskimo 8" for just shy of $400 -  Now I'll be tortured till ice season wanting to play with my new toy
