Drove over to lake loramie this afternoon at 3pm. The lake is 70% black ice 1.5-2" thick.. Earl's island has a few spots of colored snow ice mix. The snow ice is 1.5" black and 1.5" around 3" total took 3 good jabs with spud bar went to L channel off 119 found 2.5" of black ice with 2" snow ice right at 4" total never broke with 3 swings of spud got slightly moist 4th swing. I walked about 60 yards down channel seen one fisherman on a bucket didnt have a chance to talk. Will he out loramie or indian tommarow with reports

Checked the ice at 1pm today. Blackhawk has ice but most edges are shot the end pier has safe ice dont.know how far out. Check some side channels and they had mixed edges some solid some trash. Ice is 5-7 inches in most areas not exposed to wind and current it is possible to get on with spud and being cautious..no ice is safe... did get a report that bluegills were biting good. I'm going up now.for few hours of.saugeye fishing will see how it goes
