Just curious to see if any of you guys drop a perch rig down in the shanty when walleye fishing? To pick up on some possible spare jumbos...do any of you guys do this? And does it work?

Just check in to see how the ice was handling this rain were getting...I know its supposed to drop down to freezing overnight but just wanted to hear from some guys how it was looking...bring my sled over tomorrow and goin gill fishing...thanks guys
Fished killdeer wed evening with nothin to show...true to find the stump field with my gps but it decided to die on me...had heard of some guys tearing up the c rappies and eyes on the stumps but dont know how much truth is involved in that so I wanted to see for myself...ice was great 10 -12" black ice...3 other s hantys out while I was there...will try again because I know the crappies are stacked in there...
Iv been keeping a close eye on the ice report and all i can see is that the ice is 5" to 7" at long island, and then another post after that one saying its 3" and people were fishing on it... So someone with a true answer please let us all know exactly whats goin on because im sure there are many of us sitting here chomping at the bit to get on the hardwater... and if you have been fishing the ice is anyone doing any good?? any replys greatly appreciated!!
