Brand new blades installed a week before Christmas. They have cut 3 holes just to make sure they weren't the cheap Chinese blades. Auger is in great condition and I can throw in the old junk blades if you want to send them out to get sharpened. The only problem is the plastic cover is missing the rubber strap ( I cut through it) I use a piece of wire to hold it on. 50 bucks in Delaware (43015)

Delaware Reservoir / Delaware Draw Down
« on: September 14, 2012, 09:14:16 AM »
It is happening 2 weeks early this year. All boat owners have been told to have the boats off the docks this Saturday. An early draw down is going to do quite a bit for us. It should stabalize the water level through winter a little more. This should help create safer and longer lasting ice this year for those that still want to give this uncharted lake a shot this year.

Also if you feel like taking a walk after the draw down it is a great way to increase the size of your tackle box. I find some high end lures just about every year out there free for the finding.

Alum Creek / Quick Limit
« on: March 23, 2012, 09:48:05 AM »
Hit the water at 615 last night. Found a small cove, I would say 20x20 and it was on. Limited on 30 crappie in 45 minutes. Best fishing I have ever seen! Got them all on a single jig purple sparkle about 12 inches under a float.

Those of you that are still waiting on your bill for rescue should read this. Ex- Sherriff Bratton wanted us to pay for being rescued, looks like we pay for haircuts, cedar point tickets and, cigars already! http://www.toledoblade.com/local/2012/03/15/Ex-sheriff-accused-of-misusing-funding.html

Delaware Reservoir / Crappie have been on!
« on: March 03, 2012, 09:54:32 AM »
Crappie have been staging for Pre Spawn in Delaware. Males seem to be holding in 2-8 FOW. They are very catchable from shore. Minnows under slip bobbers and plain old tubes have been the ticket lately. Pics are from early this week. Not sure what the recent storms have done to the lake but it should still be good. Hopefully see some of you out there Sunday, Monday and Tuesday.

Alum Creek / One heck of a night!
« on: February 02, 2012, 11:00:23 AM »
Yes I only caight 1 fish and only made 1 cast but it was a blast!

Spent the afternoon calling coyotes at Alum. (No Luck) I through my rod and tackle bag in the truck and figured I would check out the spillway. I have never had much luck but I had to get to get out of the house.

Pulled into to the spillway and see a fish on the rocks. To no surprise Fishslim was involved. I had no clue it was another anglers PB smallmouth, just an awesome fish! Congrats man.

I set up at the bottom of the steps. Made my first cast with a crappie tube and 6lb Stren Clear Blue. Felt the first tick on the rocks and decided to do a lift and drop retrieve. Felt the second rock and slowly lifted the rod. THAT ROCK EXPLODED! I had no idea what I hooked I figured possibly a Muskie or big friggin' carp. It shot out of the water and they guy to my right asked if I just threw a rock in the water (I had been there all of 2 minutes). I think the screaming drag answered the question. As I am standing there with the deer in the headlight look thinking how long is it going to be until my line or rod snaps? If it doesn't how the heck am I going to get a picture with this thing? I have no net and the pliers are laying on the dash board of my truck. I stood a little longer losing the battle. Out of the blue another angler came down and started lending a hand. The first time I got the fish close I realized what I had. A tail hooked (huge to me) Muskie. Every time I got him close to the bank he would pull another 50 yards of line. I have no clue how many times he did this or how long I actually fought this thing. It felt like an hour. Eventually another guy named Tom? came from way down the bank with an an actual Muskie net and a set of Boga grips. After watching Trevor the other guy almost fall in the water about 6 times, he was as relieved as I was. We finally got the fish out of the water and were able to get a couple pics. This fish may have been foul hooked but it was one heck of a memory! We thought about taking it up the dam but there was no way he would have made it. This fish was as tired as I was. He was released and swam away just fine. All in all I think about 6 people were involved in getting this thing to the point of a picture. Fish went 38" and I have no clue on the weight. Thank you all for your help! It was definitely a memorable night. After all was said and done I looked at my mess of 6lb Stren and said to myself "It doesn't get ant better than this. I am going home" Thanks again everyone especially Tom with the net.

Delaware Reservoir / Delaware Lake IFO get together
« on: November 04, 2011, 11:15:32 AM »
I am in the works of planning a get together for this year at Delaware Lake. More than likely a little unofficial pot tourny. The date has yet to be set and I will be working with David on that.

I am currently looking for a set of scales we could use. If any one would have something they would like to let us use it would be appreciated.

I am also looking for some input from IFO members. What would could make this better in your eyes? Maybe something you wish you had seen at previous tourny's or just an idea from way out of left field.

Thanks for the input guys. I am really looking forward to meeting more of you!
