General Discussion / disapointment
« on: January 06, 2013, 08:19:56 AM »
dont know how many more times i will drag myself out to shreve lake....not even completely frozen over yet but good ice on the south side... to not catch anything. i have been posting all over craigslist askin for permission to fish even offering fresh ice cold clean fillets in exchange for permission i got no response. and asking everyone i know if they know of some small farm ponds that i dont need to drive an hour to fish. i work till 230 and its not worth it to drive an hour to fish for an hour then drive an hour home to be late for dinner. dad knew where all the good back wood strip mine ponds where but he is gone now. just gettin a little frustrated.

stopped by a few small ponds in the killbuck swamp area of wayne county. valley road pond has a few dark spider webs still and only an inch or two right off the bank. not clear but now white.
small pond off of county line looked about the same dark spider webs and a little slushy.

hi everyone. located in Wayne county, first off i don't even fish during the summer. i love ice. mostly like to fish small farm ponds and backwoods honeyholes for bluegills. my dad got my started in this and it never stopped. he is gone now and i lost alot of my holes cause i was a little kid and didn't pay attention to where we were going. ill find them again though. with last years disappointing weather and a new kid i didn't get to get on the ice but once. im gonna hit it really hard this year. found a few small ponds off the path in woodbury Co and even gonna try to get out on a bgger lake. good luck to everyone!

including a pic of a day on my buddies "junk" stock farm pond. most of the fillets went to his kids and grandparents.
hybrid bluegill sunfish bigger then ur hand.... and i got pretty big hands!
