New PB for me. 18 inches on a small tungsten jig tipped with a waxie. Caught on a Clam ice team ultra-light rod with an Eagle Claw in-line reel. Quite a battle taking drag with several runs. I was so afraid that the 4 lb line would break!

OK, I'm bored waiting for good ice! My favorite fish to catch thru the ice is the Yellow perch. Why? They bite good, they fight good, and they fry good! Plus, they are a beautiful fish. I fish with 3 rods, 2 inline reels and 1 spinning. My inlines are   attached to an ulta light and light action rods and I spool them with 4 lb Suffix ice magic line. I use 6 lb for the med action spinning outfit, which I either dead stick or use with an auto hook setter with a small bell on it.

Hello all. I started a worm farm in my insulated garage this past spring and my nightcrawlers are doing fine. I usually ice fish with waxies, but I want to try live night crawlers this year. IF we get good ice that is.    BTW, I fish my own pond for LM bass, yellow perch, and hybrid gills. Has anyone used live night crawlers? Do they live very long in the cold water? Thanks a bunch.

I have an old Mr heater sunflower style propane tank top heater that I want to use with a 5 lb tank for a hub style shelter. Does anyone use this type of heater in their shanty's? I know they are for outdoor use only. What about opening the vents on the shanty? Years ago they used them with 20 lb tanks in homemade shanty's on Lake Erie and there was never a problem.
