Ice Gear for Sale / $75 Ice shanty
« on: July 22, 2017, 10:51:51 AM »
I'm selling one of my portable/ permanent ice shanty's. It's a two man 4' by 8' collapsible built on skis. This shanty is solid enough to leave on the lake in any weather. I'm downsizing and consolidating my guide operation. I don't have any pictures but you may have seen it on buckeye lake.

Three of us fished Dunn's from dawn to dusk. We had a lot of fish looking all day long. I managed to land two keeper eyes and tossed the dinks back. Might hit northfork wensday

Buckeye lake / saugeye today
« on: February 15, 2010, 09:49:13 PM »
We caught some small ones and one perch in 9ft about the middle of the marsh no wake zone. I tried real hard to make a wake with the gas powered ice sled but the snow was just to deep lol. The ice still looks good and should be almost good enough for the 4 wheeler. I hope to plow another road out to my favorite spots.

Buckeye lake / saugeye report

I hit the ice at around 4pm or so and landed 3 cigars one keeper a channel cat and 3 crappie. The ice out in the middle of the marsh was about 4 inches of clear with 3 white and about 7 inches of snow on top. This will melt fast with more snow.

General Discussion / shanty retrieval
« on: January 26, 2010, 11:17:39 PM »
I took the boat out to buckeye today to retrieve my ice shanty. It had drifted to the east near harbor hills. There was still ice to the east .We tore the shanty up trying to tow it so we took it apart and got it in the boat.We dropped the shanty off and fished for about an hour. We saw lots of suspended fish in the center of the marsh area but with 20 to 30 mph winds we had no luck catching. I'm still cold and the boat is covered in ice lol. I think when i rebuild the shanty i'm going to put in a see through basement level this time.lol

Ice Safety!!! / floating bibs and coat
« on: January 04, 2010, 09:19:02 PM »
I bought this suit for boating and fishing. When i got it in the mail i almost sent it back without even trying it. I couldn't believe something so thin would keep me warm and float. The problem I have with it is i'm always to warm with it on I have to under dress when using it. My old suit was a browning duck hunting outfit that retailed for about $600. This one was about $300. It's not a coast guard aproved floatation suit. They are bulky and uncomfortable and very expensive. The company is i.d.i artic armor http://www.idigear.com/arcticarmor.php    Watch the vidio you won't believe it. I feel much safer on the ice now
