I fishing coldwater creek to Sunday I marked a few fish to. Me and my father in law both were saying that when they pole water we think the fish move farther out into the main lake. We tried bluegill fishing earlier in the day but all we caught were small ones. I did mark a couple fish up high at coldwater creek should have brought my crappie rod with me:(.                              Happy fishing

Had a buddy go out last night at coldwater creek he had 2 nice fish in the six pound range and lost 4 at the hole. He said they were biting short. Just thought I would give a up date. Good fishing

Grand Lake St. Marys / Fish report for New Year's Day
« on: January 02, 2014, 05:49:08 AM »
Started out around 10 checked coldwater creek and it wasn't safe only 1.5 to 2 inches. So went to Anderson's channel fished until 4 had 40 keeper gills. Caught 20 crappies but all small, fished in 7 foot of water caught most of the keepers around 4.5 feet the fish close to the bottom ran small. It was a fun day.

If it isn't safe by the 1st then it will by Friday with temps in the single digits and even temps below zero. I'm itching to get out. To try out my first ever vex I just bought.

Just checked the ice in the channels and it's ranging from a 1/2 inch to 3/4 of a inch so unless u weight as much as a 3 year old I would stay home:)

It will take awhile before the fish die off and they put 13 million fry in the lake so if 25 percent of they lived that's a lot of walleye to catch. I heard they were going to stock more next year that came from a wildlife officer. I've noticed that all the fish look fat and healthy that's a plus. The shad hatch this year was amazing.
