Anybody know about how thick the ice is at Spencer? The Vexilar is charged and ready to hum.

3/9/14...Really slow today, five crappie with just three cars at the north end parking lot. I guess it's been slow for everybody.

Fished north side 9' water by the buoys. Nine slabs, one throw back, one gill, one lost eye at the hole and a snapped line on? Caught em on fatheads and a plain hook, lookers on fatheads and jigs, a few fish where suspended at around 5'. 14" of ice, the sun had the ice moaning today, not much more time left. I think if it was overcast it would have been a more productive day.

This was my first time at Mosquito. Parked on the Denman Rd lot, tried four different places before ending up on the east side of the island in about 9' of water. Used Vibes and Jigging
Raps with no luck and decided to go with the smallest creek chubs in he bucket and a Jammin Jigs Pearl/White/Green/Pink Glows Blue Neon Bobber Fry. Have had a lot of luck this year with the neons and the green Bobber Fry jigs in the last couple hours of the day. First year with a Vexilar and it is invaluable, showed them coming up off of the bottom and I had to raise the minnow up slowly a few inches above the fish, they would either take it or swim away, had more swim off than I caught. The smallest besides the little Perch was 10 1/2" up 12 1/2". I plan on going again in a few weeks. Heading down to Trinidad Tobago this weekend for some Caribbean fishing with a friend. If you go this weekend let me know how it goes.

Fish the north side by the island today. Slow to say the least. Had some lookers early and ended up with 5 nice crappie and a small perch, caught them in the late afternoon on fatheads and Jammin Jigs. Fished from 9 till 3 for walleye, and 3 till 5:30 for pans.
