Fished sw of Cemetary in 23' had 4 1/2" ice    lots of perch... a few keepers.  pulled a couple crappie and a few small eyes.  Had camera down, saw over 4 dozen walleye but didn't get them turned on.  Water was pretty stained.  There is some open water yet looking sw towards state park.  SO happy to test out new shanty today...

Just got a phone report from a buddy checking ice out of the Cemetery area.  after spudding out 75' and drilling holes, he had 4 1/2" of ice.  He saw 2 shanties on the ice about 1/4" out WSW of Cemetery.   305 looked like it had some recently open water that froze over so he didn't walk out there.    I'm not saying the ice is 4" all over, I know I'm going to spud my way out on Sunday and hope its thick enough where I plan on setting up.    Just passing on info is all       Be safe

Hoping to see a few ice reports Fri and Saturday, If not, going to make the hour drive on Sunday and see first hand. I understand the shoreline was broken up but there was still an ice cake on the lake so hopefully it sets up with this freeze.   Will post whether we are able to fish or not on Sunday.    Be safe

I'm not sure if this is what you were experiencing or not, I understand Marcum Sonar units are designed to wash out other sonar signals near them.  Ive found I have to fish far away from a few of my buddies that use them.  Again, just my humble observation.

I live in Cleveland and drive either to Port Clinton or Pymie/Mosquito. Ive only fished this area for Steelhead through the ice though many do fish for smelt.   If you go west, you can park at Catawba State Park or Camp Perry, both places can get crowded early.
