Just wondering if any updates on who won these picture prizes or the ice safety submission contest? He had said later this month now it’s following month and board has been dead. Just curious...Thanks!

Excited myself. I figure I’ll start finding blacks here in north central Ohio in about 10-14 days if the weather there calling for stay the same. Ground temps need to come up a handful of degrees for a week and they’ll be there like clockwork. Found first blacks here April 1st last year. I picked shrooms from April first until may 28th in area I hunt.

Alum Creek Dock Tournaments / Re: Final tourney
« on: March 12, 2021, 07:35:40 PM »
I wasn’t able to make the dock tournaments this year as I joined site late and by that time everyone had fishable ice. I would be interested in fishing a tournament if there’s gonna be one. Would be fun to meet some of you out there

Ice Safety!!! / Re: 2020 Ice Safety Submission Contest
« on: February 28, 2021, 03:41:14 PM »
No ice is safe ice first and foremost. Never go on ice less than 4” and always wear all safety equipment spikes, ice picks, spud bar, float suit, whistle. Having a life jacket on or a throwable flotation device and rope also a good idea. Always let someone know when and where you’ll be fishing and what time your coming back and/or try not to go out alone. Always spud your way out don’t assume because someone else said it’s safe or that other people are already out there that it’s safe. Stay away from water intakes and discharge areas as well. If you do fall in when you pull yourself out with ice picks DONT stand up immediately roll or crawl away from the hole in the direction that you headed from as that ice is presumably safer.

Fish have had everything possible thrown at them for how long now and are just timid about biting. You could get them to chase bait on flasher all day. They would run up and just sit on it or if they did hit it was so light with normal rod couldn’t even hardly tell.

Yes caught several others between me and another guy. 4 over 9”. Very light jigs and flys and using spring bobbers and lightest tackle possible. Very light bite. I couldn’t hardly even tell I had a bite without the spring bobber.
