Fished three lakes over the weekend and all were decent but not too great. Vineyard saturday morning got crowded but kept me busy with gills. Good ice 6in. Then went to the private lake and had a little company. Hole hoped and got a few keepers but very picky fish. 6in+ ice there. Only found a few crappies and a perch and some gills. Fished the deeper water all day but i tried the shallow stuff 7ft. on the way to the truck and of course they were there, oh well! Then sunday we fished the private lake and another lake both had at least 6in of ice. Our day started slow which led us to make the move. Went to the other lake where luckily a friend lives on it and we had a short (ish) walk to a weedbed and caught gills all afternoon turning on before the front. They came mostly from 10-12f.o.w. Couldn't get anything to go on minnows but one bullhead. Jawjacker pulled the usual roaming gill and best bite came from a subtle jig all weekend not many aggressive fish but it sure was fun temping them. Probably going back to the last lake where 3 of us ended up keeping around 50 for a full days fishing! Pics to come later I do not have them on my laptop here at school!

One shanty on the ice this afternoon. I found anywhere from three in to one hit with the spud which isn't much! He wasn't out far and I don't blame him!

Well I figured I would post this even being late at night. You guys are going to wake up early tomorrow and need something to read. A good friend of mine takes me to some good spots across the border into mich, in the irish hills. We fished a private lake today 1.5hr drive for me and couldn't walk out far but seven feet seemed to be deep enough (we normally fish 16-20) It wasn't the usual crappie whack but I got one, a nice perch, and caught enough gills to keep me busy. Ice was 3in thinning out to 1.5in. not far from where we sat. Caught everything on orange Gpa Bob's jigs. A few on a jawjacker and nothing would touch the minnows... Had fun drilling and for just an afternoon trip 3-6... It was nice, even sat in the shanty for the first time this year!
Gills were 7.5-8.5 and crappie was 11. Didn't do the tourney b/c didn't know if another state mattered? lol Anyways this is my 4th time on the ice this year and only pretty good trip so far. Next weekend should be good, then back to warm again!

I was one of the original ones to have one and the creator of the product and I have been "friends" since he sent me the first prototype. He is sending me some to sell since I asked about it earlier this season and he is now almost out of a big order of the 5000plus! So if anyone wants to see one in person before the purchase anytime I'm on the ice I'll have a couple on me! Anyways, pray for cold!!!

I know there will be ice to fish somewhere. I live up on the lake near port clinton but willing to drive somewhere within an hour or so. Just wanna get out. If anyone has a lake or area to fish I'm ready... Everything around here is 1.5 to 2in. at best. Very few places took more than one spud hit

Been ice fishin w/o the ice since last thursday on the calm days. Been great fishin but tonight is looking towards a week of rough weather, at least it was good while it lasted!

There was also one day before this five day period with very cold temps which is a good sign for the northern part of the state. But I will use my reverse pyschology and say it will never happen

Ice fished w/o the ice in the marina last couple days.
Caught lots of gills with few small craps mixed in.
Small and no movement was ticket!

Hey guys I know gas augers were a big topic at the seminar.
My Dad will be buying one this winter and I am curious about which ones you like and why.
How long do the blades last?
Do they leak gas at all
We were going to get the Jiffy propane auger but the engines are no longer tecumseh and are probably made in China.
