Mike, just to give you some pointers , there are a bunch of guys (and gals) who make their own baits, I make blades, jigs, plastic, bobbers , spinners and a whole bunch of other fishing related items. I got my buddy into it he now sells his ant jigs all over Ohio and Canada. The best thing you can do is find a bait store and get your product out there to see if there is a demand for your style or set up booths at fishing shows that are going to start popping up all over in the next month or so, make sure you have plenty and a wide selection of colors. I know when we set up booths the thing that made me the most pissed was the guy who always asked and wanted a color I didn't make. There is a ton of hours in it with a very small profit margin, on a good year we might have made 1500$ . My buddy George stuck with it , he sells about 5-6 thousand baits a year(mostly in Canada) but has some at the local bait stores around Indian Lake. Make sure you pour the plastic out side it is very very toxic, if you dont believe me ask Mike Powell.

I use the good ole coleman lantern, remember as with anything that burns gas produces carbon monoxide, so always vent your shanty, I was ice fishing in the early 80's had my shanty up, coleman on high and after about 3hrs on the same hole with good luck, caught myself getting sick and very tired, stepped out for some fresh air and thats when I realized that I was getting sick on the fumes. So now I always leave the flap open at the top.

One of my biggest complaints of ice fisherman is the trash we leave behind. I saw over at Long Island today trash left behind trucks parked on the road side. These people who live in the houses and pay 300-500 thousand to live there wont put up it very long. Last year we left chairs, broken buckets, cigg butts, mcdonalds trash, small fish and one guy even crapped in a bucket and left it for somebody else to find. I've been ice fishing for a long time (started in 79) I would love to keep the same hot spots open for the next 30 plus years without having to get on a 4wheeler to go out. So please if you brought it, caught it or used it please dispose it properly.
