Soft Water Fishing Reports / Lake Erie 5/27 & 5/28
« on: May 30, 2018, 06:26:04 PM »
Got a late start Fri., didn't get on the lake until around 4. Tried trolling spoons and did some casting South, East and West sides of Kellys. Fished 10 to 25 feet of water and didn't mark many fish or get any bites. Fished the West side last drifting from the stone dock South and didn't get anything. Had some waypoints toward American Eagle Shoal buoy so I flat lined a 40 jet diver 45 feet back with a mixed veggie colored spoon. Had my first fish within 5 minutes Caught 9, all keepers, within an hour. Trolled a small circle North of American Eagle, didn't mark fish South of the buoy. Only fished 1 rod and speed was between 2 to 2.5 MPH. Started fishing Sun. at 7:30. Started trolling just West of buoy and missed one within 2 min. and caught one within 5 min. Would have been finished by 9:30 but I threw one a little over 15 in. to be safe. Ended at 11:00 and had to put a planer board on for the last 3. Speed ranged from 2 to 3.2 MPH. Would have finished sooner if all the bigger boats from Put In Bay wouldn't have kept blowing through the area. Was a good 2 days of fishing. Not many boats around me but they were everywhere Mon. East of me toward South Bass.

Soft Water Fishing Reports / Erie with 30inthabucket
« on: April 29, 2018, 05:05:24 PM »
Went out of Wild Wings Thurs. and Fri. Only had to go 1/2 mile out front in 15 ft. of water. Caught 33 Thurs., big fish around 4 1/2 lbs. and 20 some Fri., didn't keep count Fri. Fri. we caught all nice 18-20 in. fish. Thurs., all caught 3/4 oz yellow (Pittsburg) hair jig, some with bait and some without and most caught vertical jigging at the boat. Fri. 3/4 oz yellow and I think Aaron use a 3/4 oz purple with chartruse in the tail. Aaron put it to me Fri. with the purple and most were caught with bait.
Was definitely a great trip and fun time.

Soft Water Fishing Reports / Dock fishing ending
« on: March 27, 2018, 04:15:57 PM »
Sorry to see the dock fishing ending after this weekend. The plus side is my campground at Marblehead will open April 15. Can't wait to get the boat out again. The walleye fishing should be phenomenal this year.

General Discussion / DOOMED
« on: February 12, 2018, 04:36:18 PM »
Looks like another ice season is going to come to a premature end (darn it). The 10 day forecast looks like the end of Indian Lake's ice. Rain and warm temps. will wipe out the shore ice quickly. Might be able to plank it through the weekend, depending on the rain and wind. If you go, be sure to spud your way and err on the side of caution.

Indian Lake / North Fork tonight
« on: February 11, 2018, 09:20:46 PM »
Fished North Fork tonight and caught 2 short eyes and 1 15 in. white bass. A lot of the ice where most people fish is unsafe, 1 hit and through with the spud bar. Place I normally fish had 4 - 5 inches of ice. Didn't mark many fish either. Spud your way if you fish it.
