Ok guys thinking of taking a 3 to 4 day trip somewhere in Ohio to fish mid feb. Any suggestions? I enjoy pan fishing crappie and would love to find some perch. Just looking for somewhere don't really wanna mess w a guide. Although I may consider it. But more than likely just a lake and a hotel to stay at. Thanks

Ok guys I have a weekend without the kids and am wanting to take the wife out to some new places ice fishing. With that being said does anyone have any reports? I am really looking for reports from closer to central oh. I'm not opposed to a drive but would like to keep it within an hr give or take. Im close to marion. I really enjoy pan fishing (gills, crappie, perch) but I am always up to give it a shot for eyes too. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Not looking for anything specific just a lake in general that is assessable. I also wouldn't be opposed to meeting up with someone if anyone is going out.

Just wondering if anyone hits these on a regular basis? Also would like to know if there is anyone local that could post ice thickness. I am thinking of hitting it Friday if at all possible. I am interested in fishing any of the reservoirs as I am usually after panfish crappie and perch. I do enjoy getting saugeye too tho. I would welcome any company and any pointers.

If the temps hold thru next week there should be some good ice by next weekend. I hope to go over mid week maybe Wednesday or Thursday and check the ice. I'm thinkin it should be good though. I am really looking forward to iceing some crappie. If we get to go it will be the first time in 3 years to get on it. Water should be down and cleared up by then. I will post if I get over.

Ok I am wanting to take a long weekend trip and fish. Will probably be the 3rd or 4th week of jan. Prolly leave early on a thurs and come back sun afternoon. My question is should I go to st clair or go to simcoe. I Know simcoe is farther but heard the fishing (size wise) especially for perch is better. Or i am up for any other suggestions you guys may have.

My Dad passed yesterday morning around 6. He was 79 years old. He was a truly great man, dad and grandpa, that loved anything to do with the outdoors, and was very good at what he loved. He taught me so much in the 30 years we had together and helped me be the man I am today. He instilled the love of hunting and fishing in me at an early age, something that I have been working on passing on to my 2 young girls. He will surely be missed.

I wasnt able to make the tourney this morn but was wondering how the water clarity was and how the fishing was. I am debating on heading over for the eve bite tonight but not sure. Any info would be appreciated

I have every intention on being at the lake bright and early on saturday. Anyone going? Id really like to meet up w someone as I dont know the lake that great and really dont feel safe fishing alone this early. Will fish for anything. I have all my own gear minus a shanty. Post here or feel free to pm me. If for some reason I am unable to make it on sat i will def be there on sun.

Anyone have any suggestions for a good all around (spinning) ice reel? Looking for something to pair with my new Jason Mitchell walleye rod I won at the dock tourney;D! I'm also looking to upgrade the rest of my arsenal, If I like the Jason Mitchell as much as i think I will I will be buying more of them, but just have to pair them with something. Any suggestions.

Well got on the ice between 7:30 and 8 this morn. We started at moundwood and moved into dunns as the day went on. Ice varried from 3 to 5 just make sure and spud your way. Majority was good clear ice. Was a good morn but a slow day. Moved to blackhawk as the day went on. Meet firefish there saw a few fish caught there and heard about even more. Ice here was kinda iffy, some was great some was sh*ty!!! Plz make sure to spud or walk on the path which can be tough bc snow free areas make it hard to tell where everyone was. I left the lake between 2 and 230 so i didnt get to see what the night bite was like. I got this eye early, right at 19'' nothing rest of day. Vibees and jiggin raps were catching fish. Be safe if you go and good luck.

Got a nice eye at indian, only one I got but saw at least 5-6 more caught. Had to leave before the night bite but hope to be back sun morn. This one went 19''. And I belive the first saugeye submission!!! Sorry for the crappie pics, cant find my digital camera.

Thinkin of hitting indian first thing in the am... what bait shop is open the earliest?? And does anyone know where i could get some live chubs??? Id love to get some to bait the tip ups with. Thanks all
