General Discussion / Hit a local pond today!!! ;D
« on: January 02, 2013, 01:51:32 PM »
Went with bonecrusher first hing this morn to one of our local ponds, only about a half acre in size. Ice was 3-4 in with 2-3 of good clear ice an inch to inch and a half of white on top of that. We did fairly well, caught 18 nice keeper gills between 8 and 9 in. I had something break me off, was jiggin a small pimple and got a small hit then slamed it, line broke before i could even start fighting it. No clue what it was. Most all caught on tear drops and waxies.

Classifieds / veiled chameleon and terrarium
« on: November 25, 2012, 02:28:33 PM »
Hey all,

I have a 75 gallon terraium with a mature female veiled chameleon. The tank is the same lenght as a 55 gal, but is slightly taller. This includes everything the chameleon, lamps (4 total), heater, lid and stand, all live and fake plants, rocks, feeding dish and watering dripper. The tank is lined with topsoil and has live plants in it as well as some fake plants and vines, with climbing branches also. I also have a small and large holding cage for the critter for cleaning, or holding food. The chameleon eats crickets and meal worms as well as some plants and fruits. We have had her for about 3 years and she has always been caged in this terrarium. The chameleon is roughly 12 in. in lenght without her tail (just body length, his tail is quite long in its self id say 16-18 in w/ tail). Pickup preffered but may be able to meet within a resonable distance. Im just north of marysville.  Also feel free to ask questions they will be answred. Im asking $225 for everything. I would prefer to sell together but seperation is negotiable. Thanks for looking. Contact through email [email protected] or call or txt 740-725-4289. having trouble getting the pics to upload but can email if interested.

General Discussion / a few for the fryer
« on: February 06, 2012, 05:23:34 PM »
Went out to a small pond with bonecrusher today. Put the canoe on and used the ice rods. Caught about 30 gills and kept 7 bulls!!! 2 over 11'' and 2 at 10 1/2'' 2 at 9 1/2'' and one alittle over 8. Prolly 10 to 15 of the ones we released were over 8'' but started releasing them when we started getting the hogs. Was a blast on the short pole and it was awsome to get out on a beautiful day and float around.

General Discussion / Perch ice guides???
« on: November 15, 2011, 11:03:56 AM »
Ok guys does anyone know of any ice guides that do perch trips? I know there are quite a few that do the walleye trips but what about perch? I would like to take the wife and do this with her. Have taken her a couple times around home and she isn't sold yet.

Does anyone have any luck in the bays for good perch fishing? Have thought about fishing some of the bays for the past couple years but never have. Can you get into any of the big crappie like in the fall and spring around the boat docks (pilings)?

Any info on this would be great I am kind of putting together a ice fishing to do list if you will and trying to actually take some of the trips I have been wanting to do for awhile now

General Discussion / camping/campgrounds for iceing????
« on: November 04, 2011, 01:46:28 PM »
Hey guys, I have been thinking that alot of the central ohio lakes dont have alot of bank acess for the ice fishermen and the ones that are available are not prime locations or are not safe. Would they allow us to use the campgrounds to acess the ice? And is there any campgrounds that have rentals (cabins, huts, etc) that you could rent during the winter. Would be pretty fun to get a couple buddies together and have a weekend of cold weather camping and hard water fun. Thanks for all the info guys.

General Discussion / Ice Jiggs
« on: October 24, 2011, 03:24:19 PM »
hey guys first time back on here this year.  With the air starting to cool my frame of mind has started switching to dreams of hard water.  As such I have gotten some of the gear out, going to be helping my buddy doing some customization to the shanty and started doing checks and seeing what needs replaced.  Which brings me to my question. i primarily fish with tear drops and half moons and do really well on bluegill but I want to targert crappie and eyes more. Which jigs/baits should I get for this? I want to target in on indian as it seems to have the longest season and has always been kind of a nemises to me, but I plan to fish alum and delaware too and may make some other trips if the opportunity arises. So what are some good baits to get what sizes and colors. I have a vex and use of a shanty which all were aquired late last season so i am really getting seriose this year want to put some quality fish on the ice this year. thanks guys

General Discussion / ice tourney at delaware res
« on: January 27, 2011, 10:04:18 AM »
me and some friends from another site are getting together on feb 6 at del res for a little friendly competition. We will be meeting at the horshoe boat ramp at 6:30 and fishing will follow and we will meet back at the ramp at 2:30 pm for the results. We will have a 5 dollar entry fee, will be for most fish caught crappie and gills. Gills must be at least 7'' to count and crappie must meet the standard 9''. We may also do a side pot for big fish (by length). So come one come all should be a good time. And if you don't want to get in the tourney come on out anyway and have some fun. It will be winner take all unless there is a large turnout then we will do first second and third.

Delaware Reservoir / Del on sat
« on: January 17, 2011, 06:16:06 AM »
I started the day with a couple of buddies on sat at a private pond that we call the campground. We started getting fish right away but all of them were small, and I mean small I think I got one crappie that was all of three inches. So we decided to go give del a shot. We got to the cove about ten o'clock adn got setup at the mouth of the cove. After a few test holes we found a ledge that went from five to ten ft depth in about two foot of distance. We fished the edge and started bangign gills. That lasted till about one o'clock then it just shut off. We moved onto the hump and caugh ta few more but that was it. Most were caught on waxies and tear drops dead sticked, but we did pick a few up jigging lost one crappie at the hole and a few gills at the hole also. it was a really good day except fo the wind we were just far enough on the main lake the the wind was blasting us. Had to have been 20mph sustained and we were bucket fishing. i wanted to stay for the eve bight but didn't. Ended up with 20 keeper gills. i will be hitting this lake hard the next few weeks. Saw one other guys fishign but don't know if he caught anything or not. ice was good 6-8 everywhere we went. Some of the snow seemed wet/slushy didn't go on these areas but saw were they had been crossed recently. thinking maybe pressure cracks letting water through??? Anyway I plabn on being back out soon will let every one know ho wit goes.
