4 of us drove up to Green Bay  (9 hrs) fishing with Bret Alexander for whitefish and walleyes back in January, the whitefishing was spectacular and we got there the week before the big walleyes showed up, LOL that's fishing!!  Next year running to Milwaukee area,

Tuesday night a guy I ran into today at Eastwood Lake said he got 3 nice ones in the tailwater, said 6" ice, said 14 guys were there, one of the saugs he showed me a pic of was very nice to say the least... ;)

word is that nobody has taken any fish at CC so far...

Yes, I heard they could hear the string of obscenities 4 miles away...LOl

Tough day was an understatement.. I had 1 bite and marked 4 fish all day, luckily the mudpuppy on the jaw jacker saved my skunk...I think....

Out Of State Ice Fishing Trips / Green Bay walleyes and Whitefish??
« on: November 25, 2014, 02:48:12 PM »
Me and some buddy's are booked with legendary Ice Guide Bret Alexander for a 2 day trip in January to fish on Green Bay, looking for walleyes early and late and then whitefish in mid day. Really looking forward to it, anyone ever fished for whitefish or in Green Bay before?? any tips? will be sure to post a report once we get back. Im totally stoked about it after trying to do this trip last year but never made it.

Dave, perhaps besides the alpha list of lakes, you could have a board for each of the 5 state sections ( SW, SE, Central, NE and NW) so that specific regional info could be posted, such as bait shops in the region and make for a nice spot to have folks talk about certain areas of the state, I know the majority of the posts are from upstate and us southerners just feel out of place when we know nothing about all those places up there, its hard to get into some of the discussions. Just a thought

Yup, what everyone else has said, I love em almost as much as being on the ice itself.. just wish I could find out how to find those crappies lately.. I did get my first ever 3 saugeyes on the short rod at the last event, way fun!!  I wish there was a way to do these all summer...

Hey Quack, I looked for crappies hard after seeing Larry catch an eye bigger then either of my keepers, nothing... nada.... but I did get about a dozen pretty good keeper gills though...LOL so they are still around.. just finicky on the bite the last two weeks.
