Ice Gear for Sale / Arctic Armor and Clam 2 peice suits for sale.
« on: December 31, 2017, 09:11:14 AM »

First up is excellent condition Arctic Armor floatation suit. No faults on this 3XL suit. This suit keeps you toasty regardless of temperature. 215.00. If you are @ 300 lb and 6-1 to about 6-5 should fit perfect. Fits me good except inseam is a little long for me.

This Clam ice suit has some problems and battle scars. It still functions as to its purpose. Surface burn thru on knee did not touch insulation . Can easily be fixed by tape but did not want to appear that I am trying to hide. The coat itself has a problem with the main zipper. It does have snaps to close the coat. Could be repaired by replacing zipper. Same dimensions for fit on this one. I have discounted the price on this to 80.00 because of these faults. Even in its present condition will keep you warm. This suit is not floatation.

If interested call or text 330-272-7925. If I don't answer right away. I am probably on ice somewhere.

Product and Tackle Reviews / Baffin Boots
« on: December 29, 2017, 07:49:22 PM »
After decades of using Mickey Mouse Boots I tried a pair of Baffin Tundras today. Cold as it was my feet stayed toasty with just a pair of wool socks on.

They are very light and a pleasure to walk in. Only reason I decided to try them was I picked up a pair for under 70.00. One thing about huge feet every once in awhile some dealer gets tired of looking at the mini boats

Still won't give up my MM's but they may be my 2nd choice now.

Went to a private pond for a shakedown trip. test some of my new this year stuff. Not much success. This pond has huge crappie and big gills . But today only willing biters were on the small side.

Caught enough for a meal but released all. Biggest was about 8 inch the vast majority ran 4-5 inches. They kept me so busy had to go to one rod.

Anyway felt good to get out. Almost all fish were caught on my homemade stuff. The little glass eye was the killer today. Finally quit using it so I would have time to get my hands warm.

Pond had about 5-6 inches of good clear ice. 8)

Ice Gear for Sale / Dynamite Lures 40.00 an Eight Pack

Call them dynamite lures because they produce. They are actually Sebile Flatt Shad. 4 different colors 2 of each in a handy Northland pack. I have been using these for quite a while now. When I seen how good they work I overordered. A common fault of mine.

These lure are brand new but removed from manufacturers packing. I have two packs available. The lures measure 1.4 inches. Unfortunately Sebile no longer makes this size. Two inch is the smallest they make right now.

I also have them brand new Same price  5.00 in original packing. Shipping will be extra. If shipping in order to be cost effective I need a 4 minimum purchase. If you are close to Berlin Center Ohio you can arrange a pickup.

If interested you can call or text 330-272-7925

IBJ- I know the early bird gets the worm - but good gawd man. Anyway glad you made it out safe and sound.

As a good caution to everyone. Make sure you pack a complete change of clothes in your transportation. Even a extra pair of boots. A good wool blanket is also a potential life saver.

When you fall thru and get out. You are still not out of the woods. Hypothermia is a deadly enemy. You will be wet and wet and cold accelerate hypothermia. Important to get as dry as possible. Next time you wife goes to throw out old bath towels gather them up for your emergency gear.

Soon as you get back to vehicle shuck all your wet gear off. No time for modesty here towel off quickly as possible. Start vehicle soon as possible or some other heat source.Soon as reasonable dry get dressed in the dry clothes. Your core body heat should start to recover now.

Cover your self with the wool blanket while in vehicle until comfortably warm. Do not attempt to drive until you are certain you are back to normal.

Familiarize yourself with the warning signs of hypothermia and some of the procedures to ward it off.

On early and late ice not a bad idea to wear life vest. I have done it and will do it. Haven't went thru fishing yet. Rabbit hunting one time I was about 15 years old. Hunting near Mosquito Creek where the big bend in creek made for a rather big swamp.

Our old beagle jumped a rabbit and first thing he did was skedaddle across the creek. We waited for a good hour but rabbit wouldn't recross creek. Told cousin one of us has to cross creek. From the look on his face I knew it was gonna be me.

Skittered over no problem . Shot and cleaned rabbit and headed back to other side. About 6 foot from shore I went in up to my waist. My shotgun caught on edge of hole and I kinda barrel rolled out before I went deeper. If it was deeper. I handed everything to my cuz and said see ya back at house. Had about 2 mile trip and instinctively knew I had to keep moving . When I arrived at house headed for tub and drew a luke warm bath.

As feeling gradually came back that is when everything started to hurt. Made my mind up then to try and ever avoid that crap

Live fairly close there. But my luck there has been mostly bad. Tons of crappies but nothing over 8 inch. Few decent size channel cats but I don't care for them. A few nice bass but again don't want them.

Even tried at night once. My FF went crazy around dusk and stayed that way until I left. Again tons of small crappie.

If I were you I would do it this year. I was going to see if it worked with my Mega 10 Helix. But I can't find one in stock. I imagine Humminbird's site has them but 99.99. I have found them for low 70's but not in stock.
