Sorry it wasn't a better bite for ya. Found good ice in another area I've been waiting to try, I'll let you know if I find a better bite there.

Thanks! I would love come back on Saturday.

Buckeye lake / Re: Buckeye Tomorrow Afternoon

Hello Dave,

I went to Fairfield beach and checked it out but did not go. Not many fishing and I forgot my finder. I hit Alum yesterday afternoon for the first time. Didn't catch much but it was fun to try a new lake.

As MDBuckeye noted it was a slow evening yesterday. I managed a few small crappie, a few dink gills, & some white bass. However, it was nice to try a new lake...! Thanks CRV for pointing me in the right direction.

I will be fishing Alum for the "first" time Tuesday afternoon after my customer visit in Sunbury. I should be on the ice around 2:00pm. Anyone else going to be out?

Nice report! Glad to hear that you had a good outing. Did you feel like you got familiar with the lake?

We should meet up next time. There is another member on here from Urbana that I'd like to get together with too. Maybe a CJ outing should be planned. I know that about a dozen members would be likely to have an interest. I'm sure we'd get more than that, given enough notice. The fishing has been pretty good for me down there. I've gotten a couple of hundred panfish (mostly Crappie) in about 5 trips this season.

If we could get members on the different structure plots and nail down the bite, we might stand a chance of having a great day on that lake.

Sound Good!

Indian Lake / Re: fish report 1/10/11

went to achesons early morning, dinks drove to dunns couldn't get on through moundwood. went to long island, pony island fished that area until 3pm, dinks all day. I caught around 30 blue gill, no perch, no crappie and 8-10 white bass. No keepers, I went to Lemans bait store and the young guy in there told me that 5 people fell through the ice this past weekend. I didn't fish but i can tell you for a fact that it is not safe at O'conners, I checked the ice and with 1 hit my spud bar went through. Just because you got good ice in one area doesn't mean crap, the only way some will learn is to take a dip and then they'll be like my wimpy butt and carry a spud bar. Enough on that , I went to Blackhawk to finish the evening and with the 10-12 people out there , nothing notta , skunked on the eyes.

Thanks for the report! I think I am done with Indian through the ice for the year. I want to try Buckeye or Alum. However, I have never fished either of them.

Hello, I plan on attending! I may need a hand to unload my shanty as I will be by myself. I plan on being at the Black Hawk launch by 7:00.

Can't wait!

Indian Lake / Re: 12-27 and 12-28
« on: December 29, 2010, 09:33:27 AM »
Fished from 6 till 5:30 or so on both days.  Hard fishing.  I just can't figure out the bite at this lake this year...frustrating.  Can't seem to find quality fish on or off structure.  Two throw back eyes on both days and only 12 keeper pan fish to show for two days worth of fishing.  Over two days I tried Northfork, Moundwood, Dunns, Pony, Blackhawk, and another place I don't want to mention because I seem to have it to myself ;D.  A lot of dragging the sled and drilling holes.

In my opinion the lake is out of balance. This is the reason you are catching so many dink bluegills, white bass, etc. The saugeye population has been "severly" reduced over the past five or so years and these little fish are not being kept in control by the larger saugeye. You could see it coming as the word got out Indian was the saugeye capital of Ohio. In my opinion the size limit that will be implemented this year came way to late...!

Kiser Lake State Park / Kiser 12-27
« on: December 27, 2010, 03:02:18 PM »
I hit Kiser today and it was very slow! I only caught a few dink bluegills. I fished in 8.5' FOW water and threw everything in the box at them. Talked to a lot guys and everyone said the same thing. I may hit Lake Loramie or CJ tomorrow.

Don't want to bang on subject too much but the problem I had with the hardware seems to be status quo for all that bought 1. Clam might want to invest on better hardware or make it in the USA

I have also heard about this problem with the screws breaking. Actually, the problem looks like Hydrogen Embrittlement. Not enough bake time after Electroplating the screw can trap Hydrogen. The screw/bolts will snap with very little pressure applied. I have scene it so bad the screws lay in the box and pop like popcorn.

Hello Firefish,

I am debating if I should hit Kiser on Monday or CJ brown. Ratherbefishing and I hit on Thursday and it was not bad for Crappie.
