8 of us are headed to St Clair on Friday, can anyone give any tips? Where to fish, what with etc. Never been there before.

Wow first post in a new forum. Well about 10 of us were plannig a trip to Chautauqua Feb. 8-12 but it doesn't look ilke the ice is going to be real great there so it looks like Michigan here we come. Any suggestions? We have been to Houghton before but looking for somewhere a little closer.

Went to Indian Thursday. Started near Pony Island and nothing but dink gills. Made a move to Lucys Pond around 11. Same thing only smaller gills.  Then around 2:30 went out to the mouth of Blackhawk for saugeyes. Started off slow but saw a lot of saugeyes were being caught. Lot of cigars but the occasional 2-3 pounder. Saw a couple of limits. Was ou as far as you can go out before the ice ridge. A side note, don't try to cross ridge, guy went thru Wedenesday. The hot bait was what looked like a swedish pimple or buck shot colored flourescent red/orange. We had cartruese pimples and red vibees but didn't catch nearly as many as the buck shot guys. Don't know whats going on this year. Been to Indian twice and just can't seem to find the panfish. I know some guys are catching then every now and then.

Buddy tried to fish Loramie Friday but when he got on the ice he turned his auger two turns he was thru the ice. He got off there in a hurry. He was near Luthmans bridge.
