I'm not working this coming Friday, 12/31 and giving strong consideration to hitting Nimisila in the morning. Not sure if I'll fish C-5 Campground Bay or venture to another area.
Has anybody been on other parts of the lake?[/b][/u]
Anyone interested is welcomed to join

Clam Nanook is my new shanty.
The last 2 seasons, I had an old canvas 1-man Feffercorn Shanty built in the 1970's. (Think they went out of biz in the early 70's). Sold it towards the end of last season. Great and servicable unit.
During my youth, I built 3 shanties.. 1-man, 2-man and a 3 man. Put them to bon=fire in the back yard about 4 years ago.
My budget says CLAM, but my desires say ESKIMO

Before you run out to purchase a shanty, determine your ice fishing style:
ANSWER THESE QUESTIONS:
- mobile or stationary type ice fisher - hand pulling or ATV hauling your shanty across the ice - your age and overall weight of the shanty - solo fisherman or always with a partner - sufficient room in your vehicle for transport? - seat preferences\ - your budget

Looking forward to sharing ideas, drilling holes and tellin' bigger fish tales than all of you!
Seriously, if I can help in anyway towards improving Ohio's waters and subsequently better fishing, let me know.
PS.. I'm strictly a hardwater fisherman... i.e. a Jesus Fisherman... "when I can walk on it, that's when I'm fishin. Inland Lake type of ice fisherman.... havent been on Erie in decades.
.... Born & raised in the Akron area... Been on the ice for over 50 yrs.... familiar with Portage Lakes.

Suggestions on other materials for runners other than aluminum.. PLASTIC???
$50 for Clam Runners is a bit pricey in my book.
Any idea where to purchase the material.. aluminum strips or plastic strips?
