Wellington / Wellington Sunday
« on: January 10, 2011, 08:26:03 AM »
All I can say is that it was a tough bite. Saw many fish (crappie and perch)on the aqua vu camera. We were bumping them on the heads with our jigs and still could not even get them to move. Pulled a few to the hole and they came off. Fished from noon til 530 and only heard of one other guy getting an eight inch crappie. 6 inches of clear ice under our shanty. Will be hitting it this week again and will let you know how it goes. Good luck and be safe in your ice adventures ER

Shanty Help / Shanty Site
« on: January 04, 2011, 09:09:07 AM »
Guys, Happy New Year. I know the guys up north of us have been fishing for awhile so when I went to purchase a shanty from red rock, I found that many of their selection was sold out. I ended up locating a site out of Minnesota that had a better price and had the shanty I wanted. Not sure if you guys have dealt with them before but they were good and my shanty shipped quick. Here is the site www.northamericanoutdoors.net just click on ice shelters and gear. Hope this helps if you can't find what you need.

Findley State Park / Findley State Park
« on: January 04, 2011, 07:46:59 AM »
Guys,
Was out checking ice yesterday 1/3/11, at Findley State Park. The shore ice was not good and was difficult getting around. I would say after a few days of expected cold weather the shore ice should get a much better to navigate and to get your stuff out on the ice. As everyone says no ice is ever safe so check it yourself before you attempt to go out. I attached a park map due to the fact that it seems that there is a need for clarification on what exact park we are speaking of. This is near Wellington.http://www.dnr.state.oh.us/Portals/2/parkmaps/findleyparkmap.pdf

Sandusky Bay / Re: Ice update
« on: December 30, 2010, 08:43:30 PM »
My report for the Sandusky Bay is thin ice around the springs of White's Landing with a few dink perch being caught, along with a couple bullhead. Use caution around the springs with the ongoing thaw. It was thin and should be getting thinner. ER
