General Discussion / Reporting and asking about Lakes
« on: January 23, 2013, 03:09:05 PM »
The specific lakes people talk about seem to always end up in the general discussion board.  Then Dave has to move them to their proper home.  What if there was a pop up window when you logged in just stating if you are talking or discussing a lake in Ohio click here and it takes you to the different Lakes.  It sould save Dave time from moving posts on a daily basis now.  Or put the general discussion below all the lakes so people do not see that first.

Chuck I hope you are not mad at me for my wife bought the sled as a surprise for Christmas and it was a spur of the moment deal.  If I did not care I would not have come out to change your tire and help you get back on the road.  That being said we do not want to lose you as a contributor and advertiser to the site so I will place the first order and need another 500 waxworms from you and some of those colored maggots.  Now if you guys are tight then everyone call Chuck this week and order bait, etc. from him and ring his phone off the hook!  He can ship it right to your front door.  We have to stick together as fisherman and support our local bait shops.  Lets see what happens and if Chuck responds with his number it is game on!

General Discussion / Who wants to meet me at Chippewa Lake tomorrow?
« on: January 05, 2013, 08:56:49 PM »
Came back from Mogadore after that nonsense of 3 inch gills and drove by Chippewa.  Ran into a local and got some good info and ice is clear as a bell and 4 inches.  Didn't want to go out alone but if someone wants to hit it tomorrow I will meet you there.  Just PM me.

General Discussion / First time out for the year!
« on: January 03, 2013, 07:53:08 PM »
Well it has been two years so I went to Lake Medina and hit it this afternoon.  I felt like a rookie, bird nested my two rods, froze my hands off taking a rinky dink bluegill off a hook that swallowed it.  Only I can invent a way to bird nest two rods in three foot water with a bobber!  Ice was 1.5 inches so I stayed in 3 foot of water and then I get back to the truck with numb hands and realize I left the 250 wax worms on shore.  Grumble FBomb, etc.  go back get those and lady walking her dog said did you catch any fish?  I laughed so hard and said yes a couple but nothing to write home about.  This weekend I get the kinks out.  I thought it was like riding a bike guess that is not the case.

General Discussion / Here's How the story goes
« on: January 02, 2013, 07:39:43 PM »
Was to meet Chuck today from A&C bait as he was coming down the turnpike at 4pm.  Well that went south as he called me with a flat and the next thing we are changing his tire on the side of the turnpike with semis rolling buy at 70 mph.  I thought ice fishing had dangers!  Thanks for throwing in those extra waxworms and colored maggots!  I would stop by to see him it is really nice bait!  Of course I got the freshest stuff but thats what you get for changing a tire.  I guess its not always about ice fishing but helping a friend in need.

Ice Gear for Sale / Handheld GPS Lowrance Endura Safari
« on: December 27, 2012, 01:19:28 AM »
I have a Lowrance Endura Safari I am selling for $100.  It is used and I have all of the Ohio Island GPS coordinates in it and reefs on Erie.  For $100 it is a great deal and I will leave it up here for a week then it goes to ebay where I know I can get at least $150.  Works perfectly fine and if you want me to clean out all the GPS points I can do that for you before I ship it.  Great handheld unit to mark hot spots when you are out on the water.

General Discussion / Fly Reels
« on: December 20, 2012, 08:22:34 PM »
I have been messing around with these new Frabill fly reels for the past week and think they will be good as gold.  I had my kids on closed faced reels but these fly reels are easier to handle and let the lure out on.  Plus no spin on the jig and no memory on the line.  Lets see how they work.  Of course I just ordered two more.
