Last year someone told me the Jaw Jacker is no longer considered a tip up. I seem to remember it was someone from here. Does anyone have any knowledge of the change and if it did change where I can find this info? I have others asking me about this.
Got my package today. It was stuffed with some great items like a couple Rapala jigging raps and a Z-Viber. Can't believe more people don't submit pics I have gotten some really cool stuff over the last few years.
Was thinking of maybe doing a couple day trips north this year. Does anyone go to ST. Clair? Is it walkable? Wouldn't mind going to Saginaw again but know you need a ride to get out so thought maybe ST. Clair would be an option.
Last couple years Nimmy has fished different. This year may be even worse. I fished it for the first time in months and the weeds were the worst I have ever seen. Not just the usual seaweed but some type of grass. Grass was so thick in some areas that 13ft was reading 3 feet deep.
Took a couple of the grandkids to a kid's catfishing derby Saturday. Grandson caught an albino cat. Granddaughter won a nice Mitchell rod/reel in the drawing they had.
Hit Nimmy Saturday evening and last night. Not a huge amount of Crappie being caught yet but the size is awesome. Between the two nights I only had 12 Crappie but ten were 11-12 inches. Saturday night a lady got a 14.5 and last night a guy got one just over 15. Planning on going again tonight.
Hit Nimmy at 1 and fished til 4. Caught a dozen or so gills. Tradition held and I got a FO gill like I have the last 5 years the first time I ice fish the campground bay. Surprise was I caught for gills over 9 and two were over 10. Nice day.
