was in the area so I had to take a look, most of the lake was open however, the east bay off of the small boat ramp and over by the hangar was locked up but still thin. end of ramp was open water from hunter's launching boat, dog park bay and other small coves wide open,

Went east of 43 and had 6+ of clear HARD ice, could've filled a 5gl with dinks, used the camera and watched the Lil basturds shoot in and steal the bait while the big girls just watched, was still fun. Better than spending a Friday at work

just watched new episode that was taped last February on erie, they were pulling some nice pig's through the ice, man that sure got the itch going. The extended forecast sure has my hopes up. JON

was wondering if any one else are planning on hitting either the Maumee or Sandusky this year. I've gone to Maumee for years up until 3yrs ago, got tired of the "combat" mentality of some of the socalled fishermen there, been going to fremont for past 3yrs and maybe it's just me but the people I've met and fished around there seem to be a lot more courteous and social, if the river level drops this week I might head up this weekend 3/22or23rd if anybody's interested let me know. ps don't get mad if I release a legal caught female  JON

wanting to see others opinions on ice fishing during a full moon phase, how does it effect fishing and why ? spent yesterday on a private lake which has been a unbelievable gill producer, LARGE AND LOTS, but not so much yesterday only 34 gills and 2 crappie, they were there but not biting like they have been, barometer was holding or slightly dropping, only thing I could think of was the full moon. I've heard talk about it before but can't find the post, soooo what do you think ? JON

if all go's as planned. i'm going to hit the west end of the lake off of sunnybrook for perch off of the road bed (saxe) hopefully it won't be too windy that everything blows across the lake if anybody wants to meet up let me know and we'll go from there,

i'm looking for a topo map for sandy lake in brimfield, (portage co.) any suggestion's on where I might look for one ? I've fished it from a boat a couple time's last summer and know there's a nice hump toward's the center but that's about all I know, thanks for any info JON
