Did a drive by yesterday, big chunck of open water on the north end and sporadically across the lake. just about evey bridge or narrow channel was open from north to south ends. if you go be careful. I skipped it and hit Deer Creek.

Walborn had big patches of open water all over. From North end all the way to the south end. Fished Deer Creek last night 4-dark. Caught a ton of cats, had lots if high marks on vex, but didnt catch one crappie. Few decent gills. 10-13 fow

I dont know about now, but back in the late 80's we used to catch alot of walleye there. Not alot of size but good eaters.

I probably wont make it out tonight. Gotta go look at a car for my daughter. Ill definetly be drilling holes somewhere after work friday. Thinking maybe Brady Lake. The picture is deer creek from the boat launch yesterday. Ice all the way across but the edges were bad.

Ice in bays 4-5" edges were soft with2 layers of ice. Caught a few dinks, main lake was covered, edges looked worse.

On the ice I only carry 2, but theres usually an extra in the jeep. Just incase, ya know... The boat, thats a different story lol

Never fished Nimi. Id like to hit that someday. Its kinda hard to not fish around home. Deer Creek is maybe a 5 minute walk through the woods, and Berlin, or Walborn is just down the street.

Always do Slab. I have a 17 yr old Son that travels the ice w/me. Gotta be that example.... Im sure he gets tired of hearing me lecture ice safety, but im hoping he'll hear my words when he starts to venture out w/out me.
