Most places have ice thick enough to drive on, not that I would. the bite is crazy. one day you get smoked the next a limit.

so i decided to travel to killdeer today and fished some of the spots that wballard showed me last year. it started very fast after drilling the 20+ holes first neer the deepest spot with reefs. Me and my son-in-law were able to limit out on walleye and cought 15 perch together most were over 8" none over 10". I made plans to fish elswhere tomorow but going back to killdeer in the am.

Are they planning a repair of the dam?

After being out of commission with the flu I have finally started fishing, was on the lake for 12 plus hours with a mixed bag of white bass and saugeye. I was close to O’Conner’s point. Ice is still stable enough to have the snow machine on it. But not for long.

I have lived on indian lake for 45 years and never caught a perch until i went fishing with wballard

Its a common problem and the factory is replacing the blades with new ones. but they arnt any better. the unit is heavy with the the battery on it. it does hold a good charge, it will outlast the blades. I'm on my second year with my ION and cant agree with you about the blade problem. I've got to be close to 450 holes with mine by now and never had a problem with the blades. I forgot to bring the battery in the house one time in the early season sub-zero temps and only got around 25 holes the next morning before the battery bogged down on me but it wasn't the blades. Thanks for the heads up info tho. I'll post when i have to replace the blades. By the way, roughly how many holes before your blades were shot?

Wes. its weighs more than the ion but not much.

I was going about 50-60 holes and big chunks were coming off of the blade. I liked the concept. and bought a spare battery and never needed it.
