A buddy of mine spudded around and there was a bunch of junk ice. The only spot he thought to be fishable was The Brick House Channel. We are staying on Grandlake this weekend. I at least found something fishable.

Went out for a couple hours today not expecting to fish. I spudded a lot of junk ice and found a couple of places that I felt comfortable fishing. Caught a bunch of nice gills. Hopefully this ice stiffebs up this weekend.

I got out on the southside again today and caught a ton of fish. Caught 10 Crappie, 20 keeper gills and about 100 shorts. The Crappies were hitting Swedish pimples pretty good. A lot of guys were out today.

I had 5” today where I was and caught a dozen crappie and 20ish gills. The edges are kinda sketchy with the spillway open for the last couple weeks. Good luck. I’m heading to Loramie tomorrow.

Went back out on the southside today and couldn’t get a mark where I was catching gills yesterday. Moved a couple channels over and had marks everywhere. I assumed they were shad. After a little coaxing I finally got them to bite and they were crappie!!! I’ve been ice fishing for 15 years, this is my first year with a vexilar and I have never caught this many crappie through the ice in one day. I don’t think I would have caught a single crappie today without it.

Went to Loramie and found a couple guys out around Earls. Then headed back to Filburns and caught a bunch of gills and a few Crappie. The ice was pretty good and mostly 3.5-4”.

I checked around the lake yesterday and only found a couple other fishable areas. There were a few guys out at the sail boat club. Some spots had hollow ice with about 2” of air between the ice and the water. So I went to Loramie for a few hours and caught a bunch of gills and a few crappie. Can back to the Grand in the evening and Finally found about 3.5” on the south side and caught around 50 gills. No crappies. I just can’t figure them out. But I was catching gills as fast as I could get my bait down to them. Good luck!

I went out checking ice today before work. Most places were 2-2.5 inches. There were a half dozen guys out fishing between earls island and millers slew. They were all catching gills. One guy said that the ice has definitely gotten worse as the day went on. There were holes poked all the way down the brick house channel. But no one was fishing.

.I’m selling my aqua vu mcx2 underwater camera. It works great I just wanna try out one the vexilars that everyone talks about. Comes with the carrying case and a battery. $150 or Trade for a vex, marcum,hummingbird ice. I’d put cash on top if I need to.

I fished the boat ramp side at Luthmans today. There Was 4-4.5” good ice. Missed a couple fish but it was pretty slow. Then we hit the brickhouse channel and got a couple dozen gills and a few short crappie. I’ll probably be fishing loramie all week too if anyone wants to hook up. Or I’ll join the group searching for grandlake crappie. I live in Montezuma so it would be nice if I could find some fish here! Lol
