Grand Lake St. Marys / Re: Going off the beaten path.

Well thanks for the tip! I fished the channel at park grand the other day and I was in water anywhere from 6'-10' and only caught a few small fish. I was marking suspended fish too in the 8-10' water but nothing would hit. A buddy went to indian on Sunday and caught 6 nice crappie and some really nice bluegill he said he was by Richard island. I was there early last week and we caught some really nice fish between Long Island and pony island

Oh yeah I remember! Well I'm glad you found some fish! I'm laid off again this week so I'll be back out trying to find them tomorrow. I heard there were more people fishing huffy pond again. How deep of water were you catching them in? Just to give me an idea of where to try fishing.

Thier prolly close to where you were but im guessing you were useing wax worms? You shoulda used that 2inch crappie as bait,it might work like a 2 inch minnow..Or maybe next time take minnows..Hope my smartassnist helps. On other hand i caught 18crappie(12 keepr)4 nice gills and lost really nice eye at hole.Thats what i get for forgetting my hook spear.2 smaller channel cats also. Bite died around 1030am today,1100 yesterday. Good luck keep after them!

Went out for 3 hours and caught 2 dozen crappie and 15 or so bluegill. Only 10 keepers in the bunch but they were biting.

Well I ended up catching 2 crappie and a few bluegill in 7-8' of water. I'm starting to notice that either no one shares their info on this site or no one even fishes unless they hear they are biting.

Well I'm gonna spend the day walking around the lake and hitting some spots that might have potential to hold fish that no one tries to fish. I know they gotta be here, just gotta find them. I'll report back later. It sure would be encouraging if there was someone else catching anything at all. I saw a guy yesterday with 8 rods in the water with every bait you can imagine and he hadn't gotten a bite.

Its on 119 just east of Luthman rd. it's the spot where the creek crosses the road and there is a pull off on the southside. I stopped there yesterday to talk to a couple guys and they said the fish were still biting but you still had to weed through the small ones to catch something with some size to it.

I went to laramie last weekend and caught a couple dozen crappie at seigals bridge. I was just wondering how the fishing has been the last few days.

I was out yesterday evening till 6 or so and it was getting sloppy. I went to Indian today and the ice was still pretty great so I'd assume it's still good.

We ended up fishing between pony and Long Island. Ended up with some nice bluegill and some really nice crappie. Caught them any where from 6" to 18" off the bottom. Caught them on red spike tipped tear drop jigs and glow slender spoons. And 90% of the crappie we caught after dark.

We caught them all at seigals bridge on the channel to the right down around the bend.

I'm heading to Indian lake today for the first time in 3 years. I used to fish suageye here so I'm familiar with the lake but I've never fished the hard water here. Anyone got some hints tips or hotspots for catching some panfish up here?

Hey I'm new to the forum but have been ice fishing for a few years. Ice was nice and thick today but the fish just weren't there. I was the only one on the lake today, even the warden said so haha. But anyway I drilled up and down coldwater creek fishing deep and shallow closer and farther from the bank, brush and no brush and not a single bite. Then I packed it up and tried up and down Anderson's and the result was the same. After that I drilled at a few spots off the beaten path with no luck either. The only place I didn't try was on the main lake so who knows. Caught about 2 dozen crappie at Laramie yesterday though with only 3 keepers. They were in about 6' of water off the ends of brush piles. We weren't the only ones catching fish either.
