Today I finally felt motivated enough to start getting my gear together for the upcoming gala extravaganza (ice) up till now,not so much,so I relined 5 reels, dug out the boots, boot dryer, heater, propane tanks, organized the jig box (again)took cover off shanty,etc.etc.you get the picture,so most of my ducks are in a row,and blazing at the bit to get out there and have at it. :D

I still don't have my stuff ready yet.  Shanty will come out of the attic this weekend while the rain is falling.  Rods and reels are nearly ready.  Need a new rod for my Christmas straight line reel, to be ordered soon.  Will get lantern out and make sure it is OK.  Both 5" lazer  and 7" mora augers are eager to drill some holes.  Vexilar battery is charged and ready.

My clothing was prepared at the end of last season.  It needs one last check before starting this one.  Also checking the life picks to make sure they are still in the parka.

Sorry to say, but most of my gear has been ready since mid November.

I'm pretty much ready. Been fishing the docks some so the reels and tackle are good along with the lowrance. Finally got the runners on my shanty last weekend. The augers and spud bar are still hung up in the garage attic but that will only take a min to get down. Just need to check all my safety gear. And get some ice to walk on

Use my ice gear, except shanty, auger and safety gear, year round so I am good to go. May do a few mods to the shanty but it is usable as is.

I know my stuff is on the launch pad, even my boat can roll in an hour, so both are sitting there with the fuse burning and I even have frozen emeralds just in case . I just have a hard time with this lull .

I'm ready too. Shanty is all set up in the basement. Just have to put line on one of my tear drop reels and I'm 100% ready. Soon as we have ice I'll put the shanty in my truck and be ready to go.

Decided it was time to get rid of the rubber bungy strap style blade portector on my auger. (It's way too easy to slice your fingers while trying to take it off or put it back on.

Just ordered: Ice Armour Auger Blade Cover.

I put the Hyfax runners on my sled yesterday. We had snow in Powell so I was able to test it. The 100lb'ish sled pulls easily over snow and even easier over what bit of ice we had in the neighborhood. I was surprised when pulling it over concrete - not too difficult. My gear is packed so I'm ready....
