Early Ice: DON'T GO OUT ALONE
on:
January 18, 2016, 06:57:18 AM
There has been some darn good comments on the forum about ice safety & gear the last few days... especially because we're finally getting some ice.
I'm itching to get out too, but one thing I won't do during 1st ice: DON'T GO OUT ALONE.
I'll have all the safety gear, but having a buddy along to aid if one falls thru is invaluable.
If you're in the parking lot, ready to hit the ice and nobody else is around, just wait awhile or hit another spot. It isn't worth falling thru without help

Yeah, I was skeptical about taking the shanty, but knowing guys had some on OSP since Thursday and these wonderful, frigid temps convinced me to take it.
