I screwed up last season by throwing my days catch out on the open ice.  Not only did I get unwelcomed guests drilling holes all around me, but my gills froze rock solid.  So I learned that I should conceal my days take by putting them in a bucket and keep it inside my shanty.  No one drilled next to, along side of, or in front of my shanty.  I also found that cleaning my catch was much easier when I got home.
Throwing ice cubes in the lake all summer long!

I always keep mine in a bucket in the shanty for the same reason! ;D

i always try to keep my catch from freezing to make cleaning easier. hate to have to let them thaw to clean them and then refreeze them. i put them in my sled after the catch. it does help keep people from fishing on top of me.
