I picked up some Hard Rock Tungsten jigs and while I love how they feel and have caught some fish with them I do have a couple observations ( Just my opinions)

1) the hooks on the Hard Rock jigs are junk, although sharp they are way too light, bend easily even had the head fall off one!

2) Ice fishermen are being ripped off buying tungsten jigs! There is no question the effectiveness & advantages of them however the prices are ridiculous you get one jig for something like 2-4 bucks but if you look they sell tungsten worm weights 5-6 packs for 6-8 bucks! I cant believe paint and hooks justifies such a drastic difference in price?

It just seems to me icefishermen are being gouged anyone else feel the same way?

Totaly agree. I bought one for 2.99 some euro brand, and it fished great and i loved the feel. Not so much the hook though. Next outting, paint was already shot and the dang hook broke on my second fish......so i buy another. This one 3.50 northland one. Same flipping thing happend after a trip. It seems to me that the hook is just laying on the tungsten jig head and epoxyed and painted in. I had the entire hook from point to eye in my one hand and the tung ball in the other...

Tungsten jigs  have the hook epoxied to it . This makes it more labor intensive which makes it cost more. This also explains why it came apart. Tungsten jigs are for deep water moving quart like roving crappie . Get back Down before their gone . In 15ft or less lead heads will do . It's where  you fish and how that determines what you use .
