The 2020 Pre-Season Dock Tournament Opener is November 7th

We invite all IFO members to participate in our pre-season dock tournament series at Alum Creek Marina.

Alum Creek Marina 4000 Hollenback Rd,  Lewis Center, OH  43035

Time

8:00 am to 2:00 PM

Dates

Saturday Tournaments will be hosted in November and December.
(January dates to follow if we have unsafe ice.)
Stay current on the schedule as dates may be subject to change on short notice depending on ice conditions.

Tournament #1- November 7th
Tournament #2- November 14th
Tournament #3- November 21st
Tournament #4- November 28th (Thanksgiving Weekend)
Tournament #5- December 5th
Tournament #6- December 12th (Ryan Cabela's Event)
Tournament #7- December 19th
No Tournament Christmas Weekend
Tournament #8- January 2nd (Ryan on ice trip)
Tournament #9- January 9th
Tournament #10- January 16 (Ryan on Ice trip)
Tournaments will continue in this weekly fashion if the season is too mild for local ice. I will give you all plenty of notice when I am heading out of state/country to fish.


Tournament Rules

1. Must be a registered Ice Fish Ohio member.

2. The individual entry fee is $15 per event, with an optional $5 big fish pot

3. Per Ohio DNR regulations, 2 poles may be fished at any one time.

4. Live bait approved

5. Check-in starts at 7:30 am

6. No lines or sonar may enter the water before 8:00 am

7. Each individual will weigh in their best catches in one of two pots.
Pot #1- 5 crappie (9” inch minimum)
Pot #2- 1 Saugeye (15” minimum)

*If a Saugeye is not caught the Saugeye pot will go to second place crappie finisher from Pot #1.

8. An optional big fish pot will be awarded to the heaviest fish to cross the scales at the weigh-in. (This fish may be any species.)

9. No Casting (vertical presentations only)

10. No "Strolling" (Walking around the docks with a bait in the water.)

Payouts

Big Fish (optional side pot with up to 1/4 payout)
Best Total Weight of (5) Crappie 1/4 of total pot
Best Total Weight of (1) Saugeye 1/4 of total pot
1/4 of the total pot will go back into the organization .

Glad to see things are getting ready to start. Hope to make the first one but have to wait and see how wife is recovering from her knee surgery. Should definitely make the second one.

Ryan won’t be able to make it this weekend. Josh and I won’t be there so there won’t be a tournament.

I will pick up the scale and sign in sheet from Ryan, so we will have a tournament Saturday.
