The below message pertains to Hoover as well as it too was lowered to work on the Dam:
Got a press release from the Oh Div. of Wildlife about Highlandtown. They are lowering the water levels to accomodate work on the dam so ice conditions will be extremely dangerous. They are warning of a gap between existing ice and the water level so if you go in, you have no way to get back out. Stay safe!!!
Thanks to this post, I will be less likely to walk on hoover to check and see if it is good ice. More shore checking.
