Rapala has added Strikemaster and Marcum to it's list of companies , along with Otter. I checked out the Strikemaster web site via the ad here on the website. Looks like they've dropped some augers!! I don't see the 4 cycle Strike Lite II on the site anymore. I emailed Strikemaster but haven't heard back from them, and probably won't >:( If anyone knows something on the subject, fell free to comment!! With this brutally hot summer, I'm looking forward to winter and hoping to get enough ice to drill a hole in!! ::)

Someone on another site said that they had heard that the Strike Lite was getting a Honda 4 stroke for the upcomming season :o That would be a great engine for an auger, as long as they don't jack the price way up ???

I have a contact at rapala and will call next week and see what I can find out.  Thanks for the post, I hadn't heard that yet.

Thanks, that would be great!! With 100+ temps, thinking about ice fishing stuff might seem crazy, but being indoors, it helps pass the time until it cools down some!! ;D

From what I read a few months ago was that they were teaming up with Marcum and bought out strikemaster. Rapala will be handling the sales, distribution  and marketing of the Marcum brand in the U.S. but Marcum is still a separate company and just working with Rapala. The strikemaster  brand was completely bought out by rapala and they are now calling all the shots on what goes on. As far as putting honda engines on there augers that I have not heard yet but I may consider selling my eskimo if they do.

HWJ  is correct.   They wouldn't spill the beans on the Honda engines though. :-\
