I've been using a Cabelas 5" black/white.  Thinking about adding a Marcum Panner so I can zoom around and see 360 degrees. That would be really helpfull this ice season.

I do use a camera in conjunction with my Vex.  I like to drill 40-60 holes with my gas auger and then put the Vex in the holes, then once I know that there are fish in an area I'll use my camera to determine which species they are.  It can be very helpful.  I've been suprised more than once! ;D

I have a fishTV unit that I picked up used last year.  I also picked up an old lowrance "little green box" that I plan to use along with it.  I also made something to pan the camera with, I made it out of scrap plexiglass I had laying around my shop.  It's basically a circle slotted for the camera cable and a few holes to run zip ties or twisty ties to secure the cable.  It sits over your hole and as you turn it, it turns your camera.  I'd load a pic for you to see it, but I use my phone to get on the site and it doesn't let me upload pics.

Sounds like it is real similar to a "Camera Compass".  I know guys make them too by cutting a slot in a bucket lid and adding a boat cleat or "Gripper" so the camera cord can wrap and adjust depth. Very cool idea.

Actually, last year I saw the camera compass and thought; I can make one of those.  It works quite well out of the water, we'll see how it performs on the ice though.

i use an aqua cam that menards had on sale a few years back. very satisfied with it. i use it like slabsayer, to identify the species thats there. even in clear water when sight fishing you can see what direction the fishing are coming from. i also like to watch how the fish react to the presentation.

Great ideas on the compass. I knew when I spent $20 on mine that it was a piece of plastic that someone could make me for free ::)

Ive used a aqua-view for the last 5yrs. It works very well in clearer waters,unfortunately here in ohio i find the water quality is to poor and it becomes just something else to carry around.
