The south end is the deep hole but I was not about to wander out there alone.  Go down the West Side path of the lake about half way down.  It is not as deep and manageable to get out 20 feet off shore.

I stopped by today and checked area off of Granger Road.  Open water at area where people put in canoes.  I think you can plank out to safe ice, but you may want to check for yourself.  There was very little open water.  Just close to the shore, but the rest appeared solid.

Fished the south end today, 15" clear ice at the first spot I went, crossed over to the bank with the houses on it, it got a little slushy at the first point where it cuts back into a cove, the spring is frozen over, but I'd be careful going out in the middle basin across from the water intake, it was only 8" , I'd imagine the furth you go to the middle the thinner it gets, and as usual I didn't catch anything
