Have you seen this black stripe on a crappie before? This is a first for me in my pond.
The first tip up that can be fished on ice and land.

that is a tarpon crappie lol. really i think it's a white crappie with some type of genetic problem

Don't think I've seen a crappie like that but I've caught largemouth in the river that had similar markings. Black or dark brown splotches on em. Not sure what causes it

The elusive black magic marker crappie,very rare.

Also known in the lower parts of Kentucky Lake as the Sharpie.....

black nose crappie. They are not native around here, so if it were in a pond, somebody put them in there, most likely by accident with other crappie
Closest place i know that can be caught is the ohio river.
They are common down south

they also wont get as big as typical black crappie, normally 10" is above average to big for the black nose.
seen a couple bigger, but they dont seem to get the size as a normal black crappie.
and they taste exactly like bald eagles...i mean any other crappie
