I just bought a thousand spikes this morning.  I found a local shop that buys them from Knutson's in Michigan.  They gave me a good deal on the bulk amount.  They are some fat spikes this year.  Hope I get to use some up on Sunday!

$12.50 plus tax.  It was actually slightly cheaper than going to Knutson's, a lot cheaper if you count the price of gas.

Maumee is a good shot.  The guy that is running the old matthews at Bolles harbor said he was getting spikes in last friday, 12-6-13.  Fisherman's cave on summit street , on the Mi. line is closed till good ice or after the holidays

Tailchaser, where are you located?  It seems like you may be in my neck of the woods.

I got 250 today in perperation for the ice. Hoping to go tomorrow if the ice cooperates, if not, it'll be Monday. I'm stuck out of state this weekend and am missing the fishing and the fin show! >:(  My brother in law us house sitting, and doesn't like to ice fish. What a waste of first ice!!

So, when I bought my spikes, I got 500 red and 500 white.  I've kept them in two different bags to keep them separated and kept them in the fridge in my garage.  Well, the white ones were all froze when I looked at them this morning and all there'd ones were just fine.  Will the white ones still catch fish even though they froze up a little, or are they goners?

I live in west Toledo, & I'm a oldtimer. I will be 70 in May. I fish Bolles , erie metro marina, which has been a bust the last couple of years. We also do the Irish hills lakes . We are also thinking about doing Simcoe later this winter. The fishing  around here has really deteriated the last few years. Good  Luck everybody, Don.
