What is the best way to fish a vibe? I can catch eyes on everything but them. What's the trick ?

I'll put a minnow head on the rear treble.  Also will do a lift drop retrieve.  I'll let it crash to the bottom and stir up some silt, that can draw the eyes in. Then I'll do a lift drop, sometimes very hard and aggressive, other times mini lifts and drops. Most times they hit on the fall.  Color is also critical, have an assortment and try different sizes and colors until you find the right combination that the fish go for. Somebody else might have better ideas, as I'm more if a panfisherman thru the ice, but have gotten some eyes and crappies on vibe's in the past.

I just started using them and have yet to catch anything on them but I will continue to use them in hopes of catching something. FYI if you are close to Fin Feather Fur they have some knock off type vibes for $2 cheaper not sure how the action is on them.

I am hoping to get out sunday in hopes the rain doesn't take the ice away and will be using a vibe or two.

Drop it to the bottom and snap up could be a 3 foot snap or one foot let it flutter back to bottom and snap again......if you feel the vibrations it's working correctly. Do not tip with a minnow keep it clean. Until you catch a fish on it you will feel Like you are doing it wrong. I have caught saugeye in 3 feet of water using this technique you set the hook and they are at the hole. Yesterday I caught 3 whipers and lost a baby saugeye at the hole. snap flutter to bottom wait a few seconds and repeat hope this helps

Chubbydarter is right.  The minnow head kills the action. It's a Rapala jigging rap that I tip with the minnow. You can see how long its been since I've been eye fishing thru the ice. Guess I should stick to crappie! ;D

For Saugeye,  until last year I thought it was the end all be all. Then i tried the Excalibur 1 knocker. In Indian lake it flat out works better. Last year in Dunn's pond I made a believer out of a few members. PS vibe's is now out of business.

On the fall.....it may fowl up .....the line will wrap around the hooks...keep the line just tight enough to let it free fall while keeping the line above it....expect to pull up and hook a fish....sometimes you will "roll" a fish.....it can be frustrating....caught a bunch of eyes, crappie and large catfish this way
