Got out on Nimi one last time this afternoon. There were a handful of us enjoying one last day on the ice. Got up at 4 in the morning to get my work done to get one last trip in. It was worth it. Fish were very active, especially before 11 am. Got several nice crappie, a lot of nice keeper redear (one was 10"), and a couple perch. Was fishing 6-8' of water with the fish 1-3' below the ice. They were hitting all different colors, as I was having fun experimenting with some new jigs. All tipped with waxie.  Sad as it is, time to kiss this awesome ice season goodbye with rain tonight and tomorrow. Will post a couple pics when I'm home at the computer.

Here are the pics, including me kissing the ice goodbye!! ;D
The ice was 5" but going fast.  By 2 pm there was about 4" with the top 1 1/2 inches was just slush.  I really think it won't be safe anymore after the rest of the afternoon with full sun, lows above freezing tonight, and a rainstorm in the morning.  I might check it in the afternoon just for the heck of it, but I think it's time for the bass boat after today.
