I have caught close to 50 keeper saugeye this year on Indian.

70% of them have been caught on a 1/8 oz, Snakie Rattler in glow!

Gold pimple n 2nd place and vibe in 3rd place but I would always have a vibe on the last 45 minutes of daylight!

Use two poles on with vibe or blade bait and other with spoon. Fish will tell you what they want!

Great thread. Only luck I've ever had (twice😞) was on a blue chrome jigging rap with a minnow head, and lost them at the hole. I've only tried Alum. Feel like I need to branch out and try somewhere else!!!!  My eyes are weary from studying the map and shoulders sore from drilling holes... but they always get rested up during the hours of lifting and dropping!😛😛  thanks again for the info.

Alright! Now this has really become a great thread. Thanks to everyone that has posted!

How aggressive do you get with the rattler?

    • Great Lakes Largemouth Series
Buckeye lake - small jiggin rap, small clam Psyco Shad, sweedish pimple, and the pulse work not to aggressive bringing the Saugeye up from the bottom.

Indian lake the same baits but with a more aggressive motion. They seem to be more agresive and hit it a lot on the fall. Might move up in size.

Alum - I start with the same but larger size because we are fishing deeper and the Saugeye seem to like the larger presentation.

This works for me but there are many ways to catch them.

CRV puts out a mine field of tip ups and does well.

Colors- nuetral when clear And darker or chartreuse in dirty water.

Good luck Hope this helps.
