I scouted the lake Monday afternoon and the typical early ice spots had around a 1 - 1 1/4 of ice. Everywhere else was open water. If people are fishing those first ice spots then I would consider it sketchy at best.

We are planning a trip up this weekend. Does anyone have any info on ice conditions? Also any info about places to fish would be appreciated. . Im taking a couple newbies and would like them to get on some fish. Thanks

Reports of 4 inches at the first pull-off but you must check your own ice to make your own assessment plus the rain this weekend could hurt it.

Thank you! Any advise on what areas to fish? Dont need exact spots just a general area would be greatly appreciated. I usually fish lucys pond or long island but havent heard or read any fishing reports. Thanks again!

It's all just starting but if you want early ice info look back to the past years. Just my opinion.

The thing that really sucks about early ice on Indian Lake is PARKING, there are very few spots unless you're lucky enough to know someone who lives on the lake.

The picture that Dave posted is mine. The report is good for the current conditions. Be sure to AVOID BLACKHAWK! The ice adjacent to the main lake is thin, and may not survive the warm-up. The backwater on the north end of the lake at Long Island is solid at this time.

went out at the first pull off at long island today and fished for 4hours got 40 or so small gills ice is good 4 inches but with weather coming in it might not last if it rains on Friday . I am going to try and go Friday if anyone wants to go dan
