Ok if no one else is gonna post I'll make sure the site still works at least. Lol. Haven't been fishing much due to work and heat but I took the first day I've had off work in a month and hauled the boat down to caesars creek Sunday morning. Beautiful morning. Was on the water at the crack of dawn and started throwing topwater. No action so I started pitching a creature bait. Within 5 min I felt a hit and set the hook on a small musky maybe 22 inches. 5 min later landed a 3.5lb largemouth. The whole day went like that. By 930 I had landed 13 bass and that musky. Couple on the creature bait but ended up getting them on topwater, wacky rigged senkos, and a drop shot too. Awesome morning on the water but as the sun got higher and the pleasure boaters showed up the bite shut down. Was off the water by 11. Was great to get out and catch some fish.
Now let's see if anyone else even checks this site during the summer

Great job Aaron. Haven't done much fishing this year. Think my boat is fixed so will start perching Erie soon. Glad you were successful on your outing.

Mmmmm perch, now we're talking. The only thing I got accomplished was buying my towing insurance. I haven't even gotten the big boats ready but the 14' is ready. Nice job Aaron

Got out the first time Monday with my boat this year!  Went to west branch to see if everything worked.  Fished about 3 hours and got 5 bass.  Nothing huge, all 12-16". 4 on a square bill crankbait in wood and 1 on a drop shot around the bridge piling.

Nice job on your trip Aaron!  I check the site every day, but haven't fished since Memorial Day weekend so I've had nothing to say!  :-\

Grant glad to hear you got your boat fixed. Guess the perch bite has been good up there. I tried it once this year but we only managed 28 for 2 of us. Plan on trying to get up again as the weather cools off. Good luck if you get out.
Slab good to hear you finally got out. I have a few more weeks of non stop work and I'll hopefully be back to my normal schedule of fishing on the weekends. Lol. Ready for some fall and winter fishing tho. Heat and humidity today was awful. Hard to fish in that kind of weather when you work in it all week.
And btw slab you were right. .. my new helix 7 is AWESOME!

Tree fell on my tow vehicle so a month and 13k later I got it back. Summer is my busy time plus I have been driving an hour to work. Got a new job in Lake county so hopefully by next season I will have a big Lake boat.

Wow, there's life here! Been checking in and not seeing any posts for a while now. Nice catch Aaron! I haven't been out at all, the move to Indian Lake has had me working on the new house every weekend since June. Still a few projects to do and the house it looking great.

Can't wait for dock fishing and ice!

Andy since there are aireators nearby have you considered drilling holes into the dock to map for year round ice fishing platforms?

Thought the boat was fixed but so much for thinking. Did troll the south side of Kellys for a few hours Sun. evening. Marked a lot of fish in 26 ft. but no takers. Figured the heck with it and trolled a flat line spoon behind a 40 ft. jet diver 65 ft. back in 22 ft. of water. Caught 2 20 inch eyes, 1 short eye and 1 small white bass between 1 = 2 miles south of American Eagle lighted buoy. The last 20 incher broke my leader and I didn't retie 1 since it was dark. Nice night and nice to finally get out fishing again.

I will occasionally check in during the summer.  Nice to see some muskie and eyes being caught during the open water.  I got a bad case of perch fever that can only be cured by a Lake Erie trip.  If only the weather, my family and work schedule would cooperate!

Unfortunately for me I can only seem to catch little musky. I have a spot on my wall reserved for the big one I'm gonna catch some day...
And I'm also about ready to try to get back up for some perch in the next few weeks before deer season opens.
I have gotten back out a few times the last couple weekends. Been wading the great Miami river. Catching lots of smallies but not much size to em. Did get one about 3 lbs and a few 1.5-2 but most are 10 -12 inches. Also got some cats and a few saugeye but those have been really nice sized. Couple of 8 lb plus channels and 2 saugeye over 4. Should get better as the weather continues to cool.
Headed back down to caesars creek yesterday with the wife for a few hours early morning. The wind was blowing hard on the area I fished last time and the bass seemed to have moved out. Bite was really slow. Tried a different area and my wife managed to catch a 3.5 lber, her biggest ever! And on topwater to boot. Was a great bite!  I managed to salvage my day by catching 2 in the last 15 min we were there, but the biggest was maybe 1.5. Still a nice morning on the water. Looks like work this weekend but I may be able to sneak out...
