went to la pu after my bud got off work about 430 on the ice, we headded out from the 422 launch towards deeper water , about 19 ft. ice was hard on top and about 4 semi clear, water had a stain with couple ft visibility. only stayed couple hrs...
we managed about 15 or so mix of gills, dink perch, dink crappy, the fish were moving around and would come thru in waves, oh yeah and some white perch. just before dark fish got active, was using vodka emeralds, waxies. fish would only chase bait up for about 5 ft up and on the drop. we were hitting a mix bag when a very large mark on sonar was hovering 1-2 ft off bottom, followed bait up and down for awhile and scared off the other fish but wouldnt take the bait. about 4 other shacks out with us..the ice was growing because a large crack went pow and shed bounced gave a butt pucker for a second hahahahh
but i know the sounds the ice makes and sometimes its awesome. best jigs were chartruse green or gold pimples glow pin mans started as got dark, fish on and stay dry no pics sorry
