Got out this morning.  It was just gorgeous; sunny, 13F, no wind.  Seven inches of clear ice with a few inches of dry, powdery snow on top.  Others reported catching fish but they must have cleaned out the place before I got there.  Marked a lot of activity in 24 FOW that showed interest but no appetite.  If I had to hazard a guess as to why I got skunked, I would say it was because I didn't buy any new gear or tackle this season.  The fishing industry has gotten so big and powerful that it can pretty much make or break anyone.  It was either that or because I was too lazy to change lures, bait, location.  All that activity can get so tedious on such an absolutely beautiful winter's day.
 Ha!

Haha!!   I get the lazy part.  The older I get the more I dislike moving.  Glad you got out this morning!
