Early Ice?

Nobody is more anxious to get out on the ice then me. But with the heavy winds that accompanied this cold snap there will be sketchy areas.  Be careful out there and don't forget your ice picks! Tight lines!!!

Absolutely correct, SNAG! It's too risky!  Might be well to have patience and simply wait until we have better conditions.

Gonna check my little pond tomorrow. Should be at least 4 inches. It was iced over before the winds came. Might get 3 days of fishing in.

I have about 5 1/2 inches of ice. Fished yesterday, first hole, first drop and bam! The bluegill bite was on! 1 small bass and a few keeper gills. Heading out and fishing all day today. Hopefully get a few more nice gills and maybe some perch to add for a wintertime fish fry.

Thanks Ice hole 2. I have 3 nice gills and the bass. Haven't caught a single perch this year. Will be out again today. Maybe tomorrow if it's still safe.
