help with tip ups

i would really like to build my own however i cant seem to find any info on this any of you lads have any ideas that would help. I would greatly appreciate it

my grandfather made his from 1/2" pvc pipe for the frame and used old line spools for the reals I can't recall what he used for flags but I would think the flags used for marking utility lines underground would work perfect.

I am not a tip up fisherman. i have a few but have never used them. Maybe i will break them out this year.

Interesting post. I hope someone knows how to make one.
