I have never Iced fished Presque Isle and would love to try it. After today I have off until Jan 3rd. Anyone interested in making a run...? It would be cool if we could get a bunch of us together to make the run.

i too have not been to presque, but have read about it .not sure if i remember where i got reports from, but i believe landbigfish.com used to have reports.however i think that site has become more of a tackle shop than reports.anyway i too will be off next week and am interested in a trip, but i think we should have someone who knows the bay tag along versus two guys making a 4hr drive not knowing much of what they will find when they get there.

I agree it would be great if we had someone that knows a little about the area. I have heard some amazing stories about the pan fishing up there.

We have a new member who has made the trip many times and i am sure he will post when he see this post. Where are you Big Daddy?
I have never been and would like to go but i have the kids while my wife is at work so it will be hard for me to make it. I will have to live vicariously through your reports.
I hope you get a group together.
We will be planning a Lake Erie Trip as soon as we here from Jumpy on the ice and the bite.

Triton189 & Sir Fishalot if you have not went yet I can take you guys. Even if you did go already I will still go up there with you guys. If you have not done so already you will need a Pa license & a Erie permit. Just let me know.

No good reports coming from Presque this year. I dont think they had a very good year last year. That should make for some very big gills when they turn on...

guys im telling you it is great you can not go wrong going out. The guy with kids they will have a ball jig wax worms you will get tired cleaning fish back on the bay. will have early ice most years I will go any time retired and fishing. right as you come on the island to your right the perch come in might walk out 50 to 200 yards perch walleye. one thing I did forget back on missory bay can have fun with smelt number 16 or 14 hooks tipped off can get a gallon bag in no time. If the blue gill are hitting you can be done early and go fo smelt or set tip ups for steel head just to much fun. buddy5844@yahoo.com my name is mark

I would love to try it also. So many lakes not enough time. Anyone who goes it would be great to get an ice report. The original post was old but we can keep it going.

Does anyone fly fish for smallies in Presque Isle State Park? Taking a trip out there in a week can anyone give me a fishing report and some areas that may be good to try. Any info would be helpful as we will only have about half a day to spend there. Thanks
